Keith Retires After 20 Years

Keith Eddy, after nearly 20 years as Director of Coaching, announced he is retiring at a recent coaches meeting.

Keith's leadership and influence has led to a transformation of youth soccer in Oklahoma. His vision nearly 20 years ago was to create a successful, well-recognized youth soccer club that prepared players for the next level of college and then in life. He also wanted a model that was built for long-term sustainable success.  Keith not only achieved that vision but exceeded probably his own expectations 20 years ago. He has made a difference in the lives of hundreds of players and in all of us. His core values of integrity, being positive, continuous learning and emphasis on players having fun has (and will continue) to be the foundation for which the club is built.

In terms of TSC's new organization, Mark McIntosh will assume Director of Coaching responsibilities and Jim Tindell will be responsible for operations and business development.  Mark and Jim will be working with Keith over the next few weeks to ensure a smooth transition.

Mark and Jim have been with the club since it formed operations in the Fall of 1991 and are well prepared to continue the club's tradition of excellence.

"I've enjoyed the last 20 years immensely.  I would like to thank everyone that has been involved with the club during that time. I believe strongly that now is the right time for me retire.  I believe it is the best thing for me and the best thing for the club.  Jim and Mark have been with me since Don Cannon and I formed the club in 1991.  It is with great confidence that I pass the reigns on to Jim and Mark who I think will do an excellent job.", says Keith.

Mark and Jim are very excited about the future prospects for the club and plan to continue Keith's philosophies.

“I feel fortunate to have spent the past 20 years coaching with Keith in the club.  He has instilled a passion within me to not only to coach, but to develop the players regardless of their skill and ability.  Wins and losses are important but they will come with development, which is something Keith has made a point to teach us as coaches.  I hope to pass this passion along to the future coaches of Tulsa Soccer Club.”

"I've had the opportunity to learn a great deal from Keith over the years.  I very much appreciate the time he's spent with me and the confidence he has shown.  Mark and I have the utmost respect for him and we plan to continue building on the success he's created.," Jim said.

"I am very excited about our future.  I feel there is a lot of energy building in the club and people from all over are wanting to become a part of something special.  We are going to be working very closely with our staff and partners over the next several weeks to lay out our road map going forward.  Our club has some unique advantages for players and we want to fully leverage those as we build our strategy for the future.", says Jim.

Over the course of the next few months, the club will be gathering input, focusing on operations and developing a clear strategic plan for the future. The club will stay in constant communication.

Mark and Jim also feel strongly the club needs to work collectively.  "We are one family and our future success will be dependent on us working as one team.  I feel energized with the number of people that have reached out that want to be more engaged.  I think that level of involvement will be a platform for our success.", said Jim.

Please join TSC in congratulating Keith on 20 successful years as he moves into the next phase of his life.

The club would also like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all the Managers, Coaches, players and especially volunteers for a great year!  Without your level of engagement the club would not be as successful as it has been and will continue to be as we move forward.
